During your GoPro-Asia Instructor Internship, you’ll be trained from the entry level, right through to Instructor, learning from some of the best Dive Educators on Koh tao, through a facility that has more than 6 active Course directors on staff. You’ll learn from the best in the business.

Our PADI Instructor Internship includes everything you will need to have success on your programs – expert diver training, latest equipment, materials and clean comfortable accommodation.

Courses.

This 7 month scuba diving internship will progress, in order, thru the levels of PADI Diver education beginning with –

1. PADI Open water Diver:

You’ll learn how to dive safely to a max depth of 18metres, learning along the way the basic dive theory to be able to understand the Safe Diving practices we adhere to. You’ll do 4 open water dives over the beautiful coiral reefs of Koh Tao.

2. PADI Advanced Open Water Diver:

This course builds on the skill set you mastered thru your Open Water Course. You’ll dive deeper (30metres), dabble with Underwater Photography and maybe do your very first night dive. All the while increasing your confidence as a diver.

3. Emergency First Responder and PADI Rescue:

This program will hone your first aid skills and and inwater rescue skills, both surface and underwater. Looking at skills such as panicked diver, surfacing an unconscious diver and overall emergency management. A challenging, but very rewarding course.(link to schedule)

4. PADI Divemaster:

Now it’s your time to shine as a dive leader. During this section of your Internship training, you’ll develop the skills and confidence necessary to be able to handle, organize and operate dive schedules for a busy dive centre.

You’ll need to complete skill and theory workshops, show your ability in the water with watermanship and stamina exercises, perform perfect skill demonstrations and assist with your Instructors while they conduct PADI’s entry level programs.

Being a Divemaster Trainee (DMT) is one of the most fun, enjoyable and rewarding experiences you’ll have. (link to Divemaster course)

5. PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC):

GoPro-Asia’s Course Director Jeff Glenn will guide you through this intensive 17 day program which culminates in an Instructor Exam (IE) at which they evaluate your abilty to be able to conduct PADI programs to the highest standard that PADI requires. The IDC is an awesome experience, you’ll learn what is needed to conduct confined water training and how to control student divers underwater….plus much much more. By the time you begin your IE, you’ll have met with distinction the performance requirements necessary to be recommended for the IE. (link to IDC)

INTRO TO TECHNICAL DIVING

Experience technical diving with our Discover Tec workshop.

Technical diving is the extreme side of diving. As a technical diver, you get the chance to dive deeper, stay longer and explore parts of the underwater world that recreational divers just cannot venture. Technical divers need special training and equipment to be able to explore those amazing sites, and we offer that training with GoPro-Asia.

As part of your Internship training, you’ll participate in a technical diving workshop where you’ll have an opportunity to utilize some of this equipment used to explore beyond the limits of recreational diving. We’ll set aside a day during your training schedule, where you’ll get to try the expedition range rebreathers that we use to teach on, practice some skills on a twin set (2 tanks on your back) and try some different side mount units and test the different configurations available to you.

With technical diving becoming more and more popular due to the advancements in technology and equipment, this is a wonderful chance to get real life experience in this fast growing discipline.

GoPro-Asia offers the full range of technical diving programs including Full Trimix to 100m, Closed Circuit Rebreathers, Full Cave and Advanced Wreck training all the way to Instructor level with both PADI and TDI. Proudly the only facility on the island able to do that.
